TikTok Ads integration

TikTok Ads and Telegram: the Events API, from join to deposit

A TikTok campaign that sends people to Telegram loses track of them when they leave the browser. ScaleGram CRM ties each TikTok click to the person who joins your channel, then sends the join, the lead and the deposit back to TikTok.

In short

Each click gets its own Telegram invite link, and ScaleGram keeps the click’s ttclid and _ttp cookie. The lead’s events go to your TikTok pixel through the Events API (v1.3), server side. TikTok spend is imported through the reporting API.

What TikTok receives

Each CRM event maps to a TikTok event. Names can be changed per pixel, and each rule can be turned on or off.

The data sent with each event

  • The ttclid and _ttp cookie of the original click.
  • The click’s IP address and browser, with the landing page address.
  • The lead’s email, phone and ID, hashed with SHA-256.
  • A unique event ID for deduplication.

At least a ttclid, a _ttp cookie, an email or a phone is needed: without them, the event is not sent.

Connecting TikTok Ads

  1. In the CRM’s Tracking screen, add your TikTok pixel with its ID and an Events API access token.
  2. Test the connection. A test event code can be saved on the pixel to follow the sends in TikTok’s Events Manager.
  3. Create a tracking campaign and add ad=__CID__&adset=__AID__&camp=__CAMPAIGN_ID__ to the ad URL to know which ad brought each lead.
  4. Add your advertiser account to import spend per ad and per day.

TikTok spend in the CRM

Spend, impressions and clicks are read through TikTok’s reporting API every three hours, re-reading the last three days. Matched with joins, leads and deposits, they give each campaign’s cost per subscriber and per depositor.

When events are sent

The triggers are the same as for Meta Ads: the join when your bot sees the new member, the lead when a conversation becomes a lead, the registration at the pipeline stage you choose or through CellXpert, the deposit once confirmed. A failed send is retried after 1, 5, 30, 120 and then 720 minutes.

Limits

  • A join through the channel’s public link has no original click: TikTok cannot tie it to an ad.
  • A deposit cancelled afterwards is not removed from TikTok.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the TikTok pixel on a website?

No. Events go server side through the Events API, with the ttclid of the original click.

Which TikTok identifier is used to match the event?

The ttclid from the click URL and the _ttp cookie if present, plus the lead’s hashed email and phone when you have them.

Is TikTok spend imported?

Yes, per ad and per day, every three hours, once your advertiser account is added.

Can I test sending before launching the campaign?

Yes. The test button sends an event to TikTok, and a test event code can be saved on the pixel.

Is the deposit amount sent?

Yes, with its currency, in the Purchase event. The rule lets you not send the value.
